Food, games, and more food -----> Week in Review, Day 160-166

~ ate salmon that was swimming in Alaska 24 hours earlier. Sad, but delicious.

~ saw the sun set from the Berklee Hills

~ went to a class at Women's Audio Mission, a non-profit dedicated to the advancement of women in music production and the recording arts. Learned a ton about pursuing a career as an independent artist - scary and inspiring all at once. Glad I finally got to see the place and its awesome studio.

~ played Crispy Wickets, a game that involves throwing a frisbee through two narrowly-placed poles and thwarting the other team from getting points. My frisbee skills are poor at best, and the requirement of a beer in hand at all times does not help.

~ fell in love with peanut butter-bacon cookies, compliments of my talented friend Gwoeyn

~ visited Amore's Pizza and Pasta Kitchen in Tracy, which is newly-managed by my friend Sonia. She is doing an amazing job there and the food is great. Go visit!

~ rooted for the US but felt English while watching the World Cup, due to Walkers Crisps and their unusual flavors: English Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding, Smoky Bacon, Roast Chicken, Worcester Sauce.

~ forgot the password to my phone. The password I use about 10 times a day. How does that happen?

Day 87 - Lost badly at mini golf + a recap

Not far from where Mr. Sound and I used to live is a "family entertainment center." The place that has mini golf, arcade games, go karts. On especially slow days, we would play mini golf, which I soon found was the only game in which I could beat Mr. Sound. I defended my title for years. Until today.

I finished 8 under Mr. Sound, and he wasn't even at par on most holes. *Sigh* Just wasn't my day. But you haven't seen the last of me - I'll come back and take the title again, mark my words...

Recap of the week:

~ a guy doing his best Bob Dylan impression, singing with harmonica and guitar, on his front stoop

~ a sun shower

~ the best cream puff I've ever had (Pacific Puffs classic)

Day 15 - Became Robert Plant

To stay awake while driving three hours, my husband and I played "Would You Rather Be..?" I have no idea if that's a real game but if not, my husband invented it. Envision a NCAA basketball championship bracket. Your goal is to get down to the final four, then pit those bigwigs together. My categories were all music, but for him, there were business guys, chefs, musicians and actors. And it does not matter about sex of the celebrity vs. sex of the game-player - only that you base your answer on the life and work of the celebrity. Start by pitting two people together, take the winner from that and pit him/her against someone else, and so on. A lot is based on the ideas of the person asking you, and also who is pitted against who. My last two came down to Bono and Robert Plant. Two great frontmen of two great bands, but Led Zeppelin wins out. So now I walk around with a bit more swagger, and my shirt unbuttoned.
